Rippling Canada Review (2026): payroll, HR and who it fits
Rippling sells payroll, HR, spend and IT tools on one platform (its Canadian site lists IT; confirm it is available to you), and says it has supported Canadian companies since 2022. This CPA review covers what it files and remits in Canada, where Quebec stands, how the quote works, and which growing teams should pick something simpler. Rippling's claims about itself are labelled, and every fact links to its source.

Is Rippling a good fit for a Canadian company?
Yes, if you have 10 or more staff and pay people in more than one province or outside Canada, or 50 or more staff and want to run payroll yourselves rather than have it run for you. Rippling says its Canadian payroll covers every province, Quebec included, with remittances to the CRA and Revenu Québec, and handles T4, T4A, RL-1 and ROE filings. The CRA lists Rippling as a third-party payment service provider for payroll source deductions. Pricing is by quote, per employee per month, on top of a required core platform. Under 50 staff in one province with no one abroad, Wagepoint is simpler for payroll only and publishes its price, and a team that wants HR with payroll should start with Employment Hero, with Rippling as the alternative. Under 10 staff with people abroad, or when hiring abroad without your own entity is the main need, start with Deel; at 50 or more staff that want payroll run for them, ADP Workforce Now. The staff thresholds are our CPA view: Rippling says it has no minimum headcount.
Who is Rippling a good fit for in Canada?
Canadian-domiciled companies with 10 or more staff that pay people in more than one province or outside Canada, and companies of 50 or more that run payroll themselves, with or without HR modules. It suits the moment a team adds a second province, a first hire abroad or a Quebec office, when separate systems start to disagree, or passes 50 staff and wants payroll, onboarding, time tracking and benefits administration on one employee record instead of four tools.
Payroll-only teams under 50 staff in one province (Wagepoint is simpler), teams under 10 with people abroad or whose main need is an employer of record (Deel), employers of 50 or more that want payroll run for them (ADP Workforce Now), buyers who want a published price list before talking to sales, Quebec-domiciled companies that want Rippling's corporate card (its Canadian launch excluded Quebec), and anyone looking for a Canadian PEO (Rippling describes its PEO as a US service).
On its public Canadian pages, Rippling covers the filings a Canadian employer needs and adds what small-business payroll cannot: one employee record across provinces, countries and HR modules. The trade-offs are a price you only see after a sales call, a Canadian track record that starts in 2022, and Canadian pages that still carry some US template copy, so confirm every Canadian detail in the demo. If that profile is yours, it belongs on the shortlist. If not, the fit checker below routes you elsewhere.

What does Rippling file and remit for Canadian payroll?
Each line shows what Rippling says it does, labelled by how far we could confirm it, with the employer's own obligation underneath where a government page sets it. Numbers link to the sources at the foot of the page, read Oct 14 2026.
Rippling says it supports remittances to the CRA and Revenu Québec automatically. The CRA lists Rippling as a third-party payment service provider for payroll source deductions.7,1
Employer's duty: The CRA holds the employer responsible for making sure each payment reaches it by the due date, whoever sends it.1
Rippling lists TD1s among its Canadian payroll filings. Read that as collecting and storing them: TD1s stay with the employer.6
Employer's duty: The CRA says to keep completed TD1s on file and not send it a copy. Electronic TD1s must mirror the CRA form, carry a certification, be dated and be impossible to alter.2
Not named on the Rippling pages we read. Ask to see it in the demo.
Employer's duty: Employees in Quebec complete the federal TD1 and Revenu Québec's TP-1015.3-V.2
Rippling says it handles T4 and T4A filings, shows T4, T4A and RL-1 amounts at any time during the year, and keeps T4s open to employees after they leave.6,8
Employer's duty: Slips go to employees and the return to the CRA by the last day of February (March 2 2026 for 2025 slips). More than 5 slips must be filed electronically.3
Rippling says its payroll runs in every province including Quebec, handles RL-1 filings and supports remittances to Revenu Québec, and that every Canadian employee can choose an English or French pay stub.7,6,8
Employer's duty: Quebec employers remit source deductions and employer contributions to Revenu Québec and file RL-1 slips with an RL-1 summary, on top of their CRA obligations.5
Rippling says admins can preview, change and approve a termination ROE before it is sent, and track its submission status.8
Employer's duty: An electronic ROE is generally due within 5 calendar days after the end of the pay period in which the interruption of earnings happens, so someone still has to approve it on time.4
Rippling says it manages employer health tax automatically and lets you keep several EHT accounts separately.7,8
Rippling says it manages workers' compensation automatically. Confirm which provincial boards it reports to for you.7
The CRA's page on third-party payment service providers lists Rippling for "payroll source deductions", alongside payroll providers such as ADP, Dayforce, Employment Hero, Payworks and Wave Payroll. The CRA says only providers set up as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) remitters can be listed, and that it does not endorse the companies it lists. So the listing tells you Rippling can send remittances to the CRA electronically. It is not a certification, and it does not move the deadline off your desk. Read nothing into a provider's absence from the list either.1

TD1 rules for employers are in our TD1 and TD1BC guide.
Does Rippling run Quebec payroll?
Rippling says yes. Its Canada launch post says Rippling Payroll works across all provinces, Quebec included, manages CPP and QPP contributions, and supports remittances to Revenu Québec. Its payroll page lists RL-1 filings, and since July 2025 every Canadian employee can choose an English or French pay stub.7,6,8
- Rippling's corporate card launched in Canada excluding Quebec. Ask whether expense management is available to a Quebec company.18
- Rippling's current Canadian promotion excludes companies domiciled in Quebec.11
- Before you sign, ask to see a pay run for a Quebec employee with QPP, QPIP, the Health Services Fund, the CNESST premium and the TP-1015.3-V on file.5,22,2
What does Rippling sell in Canada, and what is US-only?
Rippling's Canadian site shares a lot of copy with its US site, so availability is worth checking product by product.
Rippling's promotion terms give these as examples of its products available in Canada, not as a full catalogue.11
- IT: identity and access, device management and inventory management are on the Canadian site's product menu. Confirm availability for a Canadian entity with Rippling.15
- Benefits administration is sold in Canada, but the Canadian benefits page describes US features and names no Canadian carrier. Ask which carriers and brokers connect.11,14
- Bill pay, travel and procurement: not confirmed for Canada. Ask Rippling.
How does Rippling pricing work in Canada?
Rippling's Canadian pricing page publishes no price list. It sends a custom quote once you say what you need. Its pricing FAQ says most products are billed per employee per month, some are charged at or include a monthly base fee, and each HR, Finance or IT product is bought separately on top of the required Rippling Platform.9
- Headcount: its quote form asks for employees plus contractors, in bands from 1 to 10 up to 1,001 and more.9
- How many products you add on top of the core platform.9
- Implementation and professional services: Rippling's promotion terms list them as charges of their own, so get them on the quote.11
- Term length: Rippling sells on an order form with an initial term, so ask for the minimum and the renewal terms.11
- The per-employee rate for each product, and any monthly base fee
- Implementation and any professional services, as separate lines
- How contractors and former employees are counted
- The minimum term, the renewal price and the notice period
- Which line items are payroll and which are HR, so you can compare like for like
Compare year-one cost on the same scope: Rippling's quote for payroll plus the HR modules you will actually use, against Wagepoint plus your separate HR tools, or Employment Hero's payroll plus an HR plan. Both of those publish their payroll prices (see the comparison table). Jump to the comparison.
Rippling's offer for Canadian companies, until Nov 30 2026
Up to 3 months of Rippling Payroll and HR subscription fees free
Canadian companies new to Rippling, outside Quebec, 10+ staff, 1-year order form for at least two products signed by Nov 30 2026. Implementation and other fees not covered. Terms.
Rippling is offering eligible new Canadian customers up to three months free of its Payroll and HR subscription fees, subject to Rippling's qualification review. To qualify, a company must be domiciled in Canada outside Quebec, have at least 10 employees, buy at least two Rippling products available in Canada, commit to a one-year term and sign its order form between Sep 28 and Nov 30 2026. Implementation, other products, taxes and fees are not covered, and the offer cannot be combined with other offers unless Rippling agrees in writing. Terms apply.
- The person asking must be directly responsible for evaluating or deciding on the company's purchase.
- Employees of government, government-controlled or government-owned entities are not eligible.
- Unless Rippling says otherwise, one promotion per individual or entity every 365 days.
- If you qualify, Rippling contacts you by email.
- Rippling may change or cancel a promotion at any time without notice.
Rippling's published terms do not tie this promotion to any link or code. Ask for it when you speak with Rippling and check it appears on your order form. The terms make the Rippling Payroll and Rippling HR SKUs free, but their list of products available in Canada names Core Platform and Global Payroll - Canada rather than products by those names, so ask Rippling to show the promotion as a line item on your order form.
Our CPA view: work out year-one cost on the products you would buy anyway. Free months on a subscription you did not need are not a saving.

Is Rippling a fit for your company?
Five questions, no email, no prices. It applies the routing rule we use on every payroll page, so it often points somewhere other than Rippling.
The staff thresholds are our CPA view, not Rippling's rules: Rippling says it has no minimum headcount. Prices quoted in results are each vendor's own published figures, read Oct 14 2026.

We may earn referral fees from all four providers in this table, so the routing row follows the rule we apply on every payroll page, not the one that pays most.
Rippling Spend in Canada: the corporate card and expense management
- Rippling says it sells a Visa corporate card in Canada, issued by Peoples Trust Company under licence from Visa, as a standalone product or as part of its Spend suite.17,18
- Fees: Rippling says it charges no fees or interest on Canadian-dollar purchases at Canadian merchants. Foreign-currency and foreign-merchant purchases carry fees under its card program terms.17
- Eligibility: no personal credit check or personal guarantee, Rippling says. Registered legal entities qualify; sole proprietorships do not.17
- Rippling says expense management is live in Canada alongside the card. Its Canadian launch post footnotes the card launch "Excluding Quebec".18
Not confirmed for Canada: bill pay, travel and procurement, so ask Rippling. The Canadian card page we read shows no cash-back rate, so do not assume a US rewards figure applies.
Only need a corporate card? Compare Ramp and Float, which we review separately, or see the spend management comparison.
Can Rippling pay people outside Canada?
- Rippling says it pays contractors in 185+ countries and 50+ currencies, and offers employer of record (EOR) services in countries where you have no entity.12
- Rippling says its Global Payroll runs its own payroll engines in key countries.13
- Its PEO is a US PEO for US employers, Rippling says, so it is not a route for Canadian staff.12
If an employer of record is your main need, compare Deel: read our Deel review or Deel vs Rippling for Canadian Companies with Staff Abroad.
- How a Canadian company without a US entity pays US employees (a US entity on Rippling's US payroll, or its EOR)
- Whether Canadian staff can be paid in US dollars
- Whether Rippling's employer of record uses its own entity in the countries you hire in
Staff abroad raise questions software does not answer, such as whether you must register as an employer in that country. Settle those with an adviser before you choose between an employer of record and your own entity.
What does switching to Rippling involve?
From first contact to your first live pay run. The implementation figures are Rippling's own;10,9 the order of work is how we would run it for a client.
- 1List what payroll touches today
Every pay group, the province each person works in, your EHT and workers' compensation accounts, benefits, and the HR tools you want to retire. That list is the scope of your quote.
- 2Book the demo and ask Canadian questions
Ask to see TD1 collection (and TP-1015.3-V for Quebec staff), a termination ROE from preview to submission, a pay run for each province you operate in, your EHT accounts, and the payroll journal landing in Xero or QuickBooks.
- 3Get the quote in writing
Rippling quotes rather than publishing prices. Ask for each product's per-employee rate, any base fee, implementation and professional services as separate lines, and the term.
- 4Sign the order form
Check the term, the products listed and the renewal terms. While Rippling's Canadian promotion runs, check that it appears as a line item.
- 5Implementation
Rippling says most small businesses take 1 to 3 weeks to set up, with an implementation manager guiding the data import and first pay run free of charge, and that it also offers a consultative implementation service for more complex needs. Plan for longer with several provinces or countries.
- 6Time the switch
Rippling says you do not have to wait for year-end: it imports your year-to-date payroll from the previous provider. Reconcile year-to-date CPP, EI and tax for every employee before the first live run, or start on January 1 if you can.
- 7Run in parallel once
Run one pay period in both systems, compare net pay and remittances line by line, and confirm the first remittance in your CRA business account before you switch the old system off.
Pitfalls a CPA would flag
- Treating the CRA listing as a certification. The CRA says it does not endorse the companies it lists, and the employer stays responsible for each remittance arriving on time.
- Reading US copy as Canadian. Parts of Rippling's Canadian site are US template copy, so get benefits carriers, provincial overtime rules and workers' compensation boards confirmed in writing.
- Missing the ROE window. A preview-and-approve step only helps if someone approves within the 5 calendar days.
- Importing year-to-date totals without reconciling them. A wrong opening balance flows straight into CPP and EI maximums and the T4.
- Buying modules to reach a promotion. Rippling's offer needs two products but only frees Payroll and HR subscription fees for up to three months.
- Leaving implementation off the quote. Rippling's promotion terms list implementation and professional services as separate charges.
- Counting on the card in Quebec. Rippling's corporate card launched in Canada excluding Quebec.
How Rippling measures up for a Canadian company
No stars and no score out of five: we have not run a payroll on Rippling, so each criterion gets a plain verdict and the evidence behind it.
One employee record for payroll and HR across provinces and countries, priced by quote.
For a Canadian company of 10 or more staff with people in several provinces or outside Canada, or of 50 or more that runs its own payroll, Rippling is the option on this page that keeps payroll, HR and global pay on one employee record. Get the quote in writing, ask to see a Canadian pay run end to end (Quebec too, if you have staff there), and compare year-one cost with Employment Hero. For payroll only under 50 staff in one province, Wagepoint is the simpler answer.
How we reviewed Rippling
This review is built from Rippling's public Canadian sources, all read on Oct 14 2026: the Canadian payroll, pricing, small-business, global payroll, benefits and corporate card pages; its Canada launch post (updated Apr 24 2024), its July 2025 release notes and its Wealthsimple and corporate card posts; and sections 1 and 27 of its promotion terms. Government facts come from canada.ca (the CRA's list of third-party payment service providers, the TD1 and T4 guidance and the ROE guide) and from Revenu Québec. Competitor cells come from Wagepoint's, Employment Hero's, Deel's and ADP's own pages, read the same day. Rippling's help centre requires a login, so nothing here comes from it.
LedgerLogic has not run a client payroll on Rippling. Claims Rippling makes about itself are labelled "Rippling says"; facts we confirmed on a government page say so. The fit judgements are a CPA's, read against what each provider's own pages say it does, and the routing follows the rule we apply on every payroll page we publish.
Disclosure: LedgerLogic may earn a referral fee from Rippling if you contact Rippling through the links on this page, at no cost to you. We also have referral relationships with Wagepoint, Employment Hero, Deel, Ramp and Float, which are named on this page. Referral fees never decide a routing.
