How LedgerLogic researches, reviews, and maintains accuracy across all accounting content. Our readers make financial decisions based on what we publish — we take that responsibility seriously.
How We Research
Every piece of content published on LedgerLogic starts with primary sources. For tax and compliance topics, we reference the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), provincial tax authorities, and relevant legislation directly. For software reviews and tool comparisons, we deploy each platform on real Canadian client accounts before forming an opinion. We do not rely on vendor marketing materials or secondhand summaries.
CPA Review Process
All content on LedgerLogic is written or reviewed by Sebastien Prost, CPA, CGA, who brings over 10 years of experience including work with the Canada Revenue Agency. Tax rates, filing thresholds, compliance requirements, and financial guidance are verified against current CRA publications before publishing. Blog posts, service descriptions, and tool reviews go through at least one CPA review before going live.
Affiliate Disclosure
Some of the tools and software we recommend include affiliate links. When you sign up through these links, LedgerLogic may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence our ratings, recommendations, or editorial opinions. We recommend tools we genuinely use in our practice, and we include honest pros and cons for every product — including our affiliate partners. Non-affiliate tools receive equal editorial coverage. Our top pick is always the tool we would deploy for our own clients, regardless of commission.
Content Freshness
Accounting regulations, tax rates, and software pricing change frequently. We review and update all published content on a quarterly cycle. Blog posts display both their original publication date and the date of the most recent update. When a significant change occurs mid-cycle (such as a new CRA ruling or a major software price increase), we update affected content immediately. Pages that reference time-sensitive data (GST/HST rates, Xero pricing, CRA thresholds) are verified against source material at each update.
Corrections Policy
If we publish an error — whether a misquoted tax rate, an outdated price, or a factual inaccuracy — we correct it as soon as it is identified. Corrections are made directly in the content. For significant corrections (those that change a recommendation or materially affect financial guidance), we add a note at the top of the article explaining what was changed and when. Independence & Objectivity
LedgerLogic is an independent CPA firm. We are not owned by or financially dependent on any software vendor. While we are a Xero Certified Partner and maintain affiliate relationships with several tools, our editorial recommendations are based on hands-on testing with real Canadian client accounts. We regularly recommend non-affiliate tools (such as QuickBooks Online or Wave) when they are the better fit for a specific use case. Our obligation is to our readers and clients, not to our affiliate partners.
