Practice Better Review (2026): pricing in Canada, and who it fits
Practice Better is Toronto-built practice management for nutritionists, dietitians, naturopaths, health coaches and therapists who sell programs as well as appointments. Plans run from a free Sprout tier to $155 a month CAD, telehealth and journaling are on every plan, and the gap for Canadian practices is insurance billing. Every paid plan has a 14-day free trial (30 days on Team), no contract, and cancels any time. The free Sprout plan covers 3 clients with no time limit.
Nutritionists, dietitians, naturopaths, health coaches, functional-medicine practitioners and therapists whose revenue is a mix of one-to-one sessions, packages, group programs and courses, mostly online, and mostly paid by the client rather than by an insurer.
Physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage and other appointment-driven clinics that bill extended health insurers directly. Practice Better has no TELUS eClaims; its claims tools are built for US clearinghouses. Those clinics belong on Jane.
For the practitioner it is built for, Practice Better is the most complete tool on the Canadian market: programs, protocols, journaling, telehealth, Fullscript and payments in one place, at a price that starts free and tops out below what a two-practitioner Jane clinic pays. The two honest limits are insurance billing, which is US-shaped, and accounting, where Payments syncs to QuickBooks through a third-party app and Xero users export. Pick it for a program business; pick Jane for a clinic.
Is Practice Better worth it for a Canadian practice?
Yes, if you sell programs, packages and virtual sessions to clients who pay you directly. Practice Better is a Toronto company, bills Canadian practitioners in CAD (Starter $35, Professional $69, Plus $99, Team $155 a month, with a free 3-client Sprout plan), and puts telehealth, journaling, protocols, courses, Fullscript and Stripe-powered payments in one portal. It states PIPEDA and PHIPA compliance. It is not worth it for a clinic that direct-bills Canadian insurers: there is no TELUS eClaims, only superbills and US clearinghouses, so physio, chiro and massage clinics should use Jane App instead.

Add GST/HST (and QST or PST where they apply) to your services and packages, then apply for Practice Better Payments so clients can pay by card or bank debit from the portal, and by card or Interac on the reader in person. The first payout waits 7 days, then every 2 to 3 business days.
Load your forms and chart templates, connect Fullscript, and set up the program or package you sell most. Automations can send the intake, reminders and follow-ups on their own.
Sync Google or Apple calendars, and invite clients to the app so journals and wearable data land in their file before the session.
QuickBooks Online users install the Acodei app in the Stripe dashboard to sync Payments. Xero users export the Payment History report monthly. Either way, keep GST/HST collected separate from program revenue in the ledger.
