Would we open it without the offer?

Do I have to bank with Venn after incorporating?
No, but the welcome credit requires funding the Venn account it opens, and the account itself has no monthly fees, so most founders keep it. You can run another bank account alongside it. Because Venn opens that account for you, the separate up-to-$500 signup bonus through our link does not apply to a company that incorporates through Venn: Venn's referral terms require a new customer who has not started onboarding, and the incorporation credit cannot be combined with other promotions.
Is the Venn welcome bonus taxable?
Bank account welcome bonuses received by a corporation are generally taxable income to the corporation. Your bookkeeper records it as other income; it does not reduce the incorporation cost for accounting purposes even though it does in cash terms.
